Brief description of the research work: Given the inherent complexities of Blood Supply Chain management—including service level requirements, perishability of donations and blood products, and the uncertainty of both supply and demand—integrated planning is crucial to managing this scarce resource effectively. This thesis addresses these challenges by developing a comprehensive decision-support framework that enables efficient and effective planning at both operational and tactical levels that enhance efficiency, reduce costs and waste, and improve overall resource allocation.
