Breve descrição do trabalho: This dissertation investigates how enterprises can systematically determine and manage the value of data as a core asset. While data is increasingly recognized as a key driver of business value, many organizations lack structured, standardized, and practically applicable approaches to data valuation. To address this gap, the research develops a data valuation business capability (DVBC) embedded within enterprise architecture, following the TOGAF framework. Guided by the design science paradigm, the dissertation introduces and evaluates several artifacts, including a conceptual enterprise architecture model, a taxonomy, and an ontology for data valuation. These are further validated through expert interviews, cluster analysis, and a case study applying the MACBETH multi-criteria decision-making method in an industry setting. The results provide practical instruments for organizations to operationalize data valuation and generate measurable business impact. Overall, the dissertation contributes to bridging theory and practice and supports the transformation toward data-driven enterprises.
