MEGIE students reach the podium in the national final of the GMC 2021

On November 30th, the national final of the Global Management Challenge 2021 took place, in online format. The international Strategy and Management competition had 332 participating teams, reaching the final only eight. In the final, the 8 teams were challenged to make five management decisions about the company's destinies they led, each decision corresponding to a quarter of activity and including areas such as finance, marketing, production and human resources.
The Accenture TC/ECONOM-IST team, composed of 3 MEGIE students (Masters in Engineering and Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship) - Carina Anastácio, Laura-Jane Fernandes and Sanha de Almeida and 1 Aerospace Engineering student, Rodrigo Ramos reached 3th place in the competition.

The team's strategy was based “on producing high quality products and investing in expanding our sales platform, including increasing distributors in each market and increasing the number of visits to our website”, says Laura-Jane Fernandes. “We also focused on increasing the production capacity of our company to be able to deal with a progressive increase in demand for our products”
The Global Management Challenge, organized by Expresso and SDG, had its first edition in national territory in 1980. The success of the 1st edition of the Global Management Challenge was enough reason to advance towards internationalization, and today it is present in more than 30 countries.
