Professor Mónica Oliveira in the coordination of the study Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience

A study by the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR) was initiated to analyze how the sustainability and resilience of the country's health system could be improved.

The PHSSR partnership was created in 2020 by the London School of Economics, the World Economic Forum and AstraZeneca, and is already being studied in more than 20 countries.

In Portugal, this study has a partnership between IST, through the coordination of Professor Mónica Oliveira, and ISEG, by the researcher Aida Isabel Tavares, and aims to

identify weaknesses, opportunities and risks for the sustainability and resilience of the Portuguese health system, also including policy recommendations, generated and discussed by a large group of experts from different areas related to health.

A framework developed by the London School of Economics is used, which analyzes the health system in seven areas: Financing, Governance, Human Resources, Medicines and Technology, Service Delivery, Population Health and Environmental Sustainability.

Professor Mónica Oliveira is a Full Professor at DEG and develops research in the area of Health and Decision Support Models.
