DEG CALL for Teaching Assistants
Call for expressions of interest in teaching support for DEG in the upcoming academic year

1. SCOPE OF THE CALL
The curriculum offered by the Department of Engineering and Management (DEG) at IST covers, at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management (LEGI and MEGI) and the Master’s degree in Engineering and Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MEGIE), as well as a wide range of cross-disciplinary modules offered to other Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes at the Instituto Superior Técnico, namely the Management module (UC de Gestão) and the Introduction to Economics module (UC de Introdução à Economia).
In order to reinforce its teaching capacity, the DEG has regularly drawn on staff who provide teaching support on a temporary basis and in course units closely related to their areas of specialisation.
The aim of this call is to gather information on candidates interested in contributing to the DEG’s teaching programme.
2. CANDIDATE PROFILE
Pretende-se identificar candidatos com formação a nível de licenciatura (admite-se candidaturas de We seek to identify candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (applications are accepted from those due to complete their Bachelor’s degree in 2026/2027), a Master’s or PhD in Engineering and Management or related fields, with academic and/or professional experience relevant to the DEG’s teaching areas, who are interested in contributing to modules in the 1st or 2nd cycle of the DEG’s programme, and who meet the following criteria:
- Third-year Bachelor's degree students;
- Master's degree students;
- PhD students;
- Postdoctoral researchers;
- Professionals with relevant teaching experience and appropriate academic qualifications.
The type and duration of the contract to be offered will be determined on a individual basis, depending on the specific needs of the DEG, and on the candidates experience, academic qualifications and contractual conditions.
Please note that first-cycle modules will be taught in Portuguese and second-cycle modules in English, with some taught at the Tagus Park Campus (Técnico Oeiras) and others at the Alameda Campus.
